An exceptional and beautifully crafted writing instrument from the prestigious Graf von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year collection. The 2008 edition draws its inspiration from the historic interiors of Faber-Castell Castle, particularly the famous ‘Lemon Room’, the private salon of Countess Ottilie.

The barrel is crafted from precious Indian Satinwood, renowned for its warm golden-yellow tones and distinctive natural character. The intricate herringbone pattern is inspired by the historic wood marquetry of the Countess's writing desk, giving the pen an elegant and timeless appearance.

Exceptional craftsmanship

The distinctive herringbone pattern is handcrafted from 84 individually cut Satinwood segments. Each segment is carefully shaped and positioned to create a precisely fitted and harmonious pattern.

The wooden barrel is subsequently polished and lacquered by hand through an extensive finishing process. This creates an exceptionally smooth surface while enhancing the natural depth and beauty of the wood.

Citrine & platinum-plated details

One of the most striking features is the end cap, finished in platinum-plated metal and set with a beautiful citrine gemstone. The citrine is hand-cut in an intricate checkerboard pattern, creating an elegant focal point.

All metal fittings feature a high-quality platinum-plated finish, including the distinctive spring-loaded clip.

Nib & filling system

The fountain pen is fitted with an 18-karat two-tone gold Medium nib, designed to provide a smooth and distinctive writing experience.

A traditional piston filling system is integrated into the pen, providing generous ink capacity and complementing the classic character of this prestigious Graf von Faber-Castell writing instrument.

Condition

The pen is in very good overall condition, especially considering its age.
