I ordered a this pen with a BB nib. While it did take awhile to ship since the nib was a special order, I was not disappointed. Pelikans already write wider than other pens and the BB nib was not the exception. It was super wide and laid nice wet lines. Really a joy to write with.
I love this pen., I finally broke down and bought the M1000 after believing for several years that my M800 was sufficient and perfect... The 800 is still a great pen, no doubt, but this M1000 is surpassingly beautiful, smooth, and now my favorite of all. I also have come to love the fine nib vs. my usual choice of medium.
This pen is all I wanted: large, a lovely and smooth sensation when writibg and a joy to look at.
Being a left-hander it’s always harder to find a truly great writing experience, but the M1000 provides it in spades!
Appelboom had the best price on this grail pen, the Pelikan M1000 (in black because of the ink window--Pelikan, bring back translucent stripes!). I ordered this pen in fine, as I'd heard the nibs can be gushers in medium and broad. I asked for Appelboom's test of the nib for flow and smoothness. As always, I received a pen tuned to perfection! It is a delight to use. I thought the pen might be too large for my hand, but actually, it is comfortable and just right, about like a Montblanc 149. It flexes when desired, but it is not a flex nib per se. Whenever I want to buy a new pen, I always check at Appelboom's first. The nib test option is especially valuable, saving me from returns or further servicing. I've never been disappointed. Thank you yet again!
I ordered this one in double broad. It’s a dream. A big bold wet line. Works perfect for headers and titles in my journal and for baseline outline in my sketches. Highly recommended. Now I need a 3B!
The Pelikan M1000 is a true wonder. Everything about this pen is absolutely exquisite. Already looking into my next M1000 model to add to my collection.
As a pen collector the Pelikan M1000 had been one of those grail pens that I have always wanted for my collection. Its classical looks, gold trim and elegant clip quietly understate its position now as one of the best pens that I own. I was expecting to be impressed after owning an m600 and I have not been disappointed. To begin with the nib which is beautiful to look at glides across the page with very little pressure and makes any writing a pleasure. The filling mechanism works extremely well and the balance of the pen posted or unposted just delivers. Once you have written with this pen you realise how impressive the experience is. I understand now how this pen gets its deserved reputation.
I started my pelikan journey with an M600 red stripe and my latest purchase has been an M1000..what a journey and how good is this pen.perfect size and the softness of the M nib is brilliant.
