Review Title: A very special pen

An absolutely beautiful and very special pen. ????️✨ The REI 1st is made from ebonite and finished by Wajima artisan Masanori Sumi using traditional Tame-Nuri urushi… a vermilion layer beneath translucent reddish-brown lacquer that gradually becomes more visible and develops more character with time and use. It has Sailor’s lovely 21K gold nib, and at 151 mm it’s a substantial pen but feels wonderful in the hand. I especially love that the finish will continue to evolve as I use it… it really feels like owning a little piece of Japanese craftsmanship. ❤️
