It's more of a golden brown and dark blue as I open the box than shown on the website. A little light blue see through giving the pen depth with a metallic looking yellow gold glittering like "stardust" and some mother of pearl like shine.
Took me a day to get used to the difference with what I had in my head as shown on the website, each pen being unique, now I love it. Love the model of the MZG 2.0. That's why I wanted to replace my old Leonardo MZG 2.0 that got lost in the washing machine. It was my favorite writer. The broad nib writes smooth with the right wetness and the pen is and feels very solidly made and perfectly balanced at least in my somewhat bigger hands.( Must be honest that my budget isn't big enough to buy the more high-end models, patterns and colours.) I`m very glad to be able to own such a pen,
The resin pattern is fantastic looking although a lot more brown than in the photos. But I do have problem with stains on the pen clip, which could not be wiped away. You expect better quality control from Leonardo.
Beautiful pen but the grip is a bit wide for my smallish hands. The resin is beautiful although there's a flaw in the cap where the resin doesn't seem to have filled the mold entirely resulting in a very small gap. It doesn't affect the performance but it's a blemish that detracts from the build quality in my eyes, especially at this price point. I'm also not fond of the piston mechanism. It works just fine but the end cap is flimsy and doesn't lock properly when closed fully. When you rotate the pen in a pen case, the cap sometimes loosens. I chose the elastic EF and now know that elastic is not for me. It writes way too wet giving more of a medium to bold line instead of an EF. It's a fine-looking writing instrument but I had expected higher quality. I'm hoping to change the nib in the future to a regular EF.
Excellent pen. I purchased my Stardust out of a whim: I wanted to try one of those # 8 gold nibs, piston filled, italian design. Well, after having used it for several weeks, I can say it is writing without a flaw. Ink flow is steady even with the piston half filled (this is very often giving trouble in other pens). I purchased an F nib and am now wondering what would be an M. The only trouble with these models that come in numbered series, well, they get out of stock. I don't know how, but Appelboom was able to find one for me after some month waiting... good for them
Having bought one of these with a steel no.6 nib i decided to go for a gold no.8 stub nib version. It is lush! It is wonderfully wet and smooth and, comined with the blank material it is an absolute gem.
The name of the pen is fitting, blue (a bit transparent) with gold sparkling vortex. The #8 nib is fitted with an ebonite feed!
And I love the section of the MZG 2.0.
I've not tried the La Fenice nib before, so I ordered the MZG 2.0 Stardust, and the La Fenice BB nib seems to have a stubbish tendency like the Lamy 2k BB. It does have a tendency to dry out, but I re-cleaned the feed and realigned everything and it writes beautifully. The capacity is good and the piston is smooth and works without trouble. Love the acrylic. Happy with this order and would definitely consider another MZG 2.0 in future!
First off, the pen is beautiful. That being said, it can be the prettiest pen in the world, but if it doesn't write well, then who cares? I loved Leonardo's previous nibs, so I was excited to try the la fenice nib. I was not disappointed whatsoever. Even though I usually prefer Japanese nibs with a decent amount of feedback, these Leonardo nibs are fantastic. Very smooth with just a touch of feedback (I ordered a fine nib). A combination of beauty and function; you can't get better than that!
My recent purchase from your store of the Leonardo Momento Zero Grande 2.0 (Stardust) was one of my best decisions. This is my first Leonardo pen and I am pleased to say that I have been truly impressed. To begin with the materials used are exquisite for this price range as is the craftsmanship. It is the little attention to details and the absolute demand for accuracy and immaculate finishing that levels the product up into a league of its own. The fine metal trim highlights the parts of the pen very well and adds to the feeling of class.
