Review Title: Huge ink capacity, great writer

I got this in a medium steel nib. As others have said, this is a very substantial and heavy pen. The syringe filling mechanism works well and is leak-proof, as the pen is sealed with o-rings. Diplomat steel nibs write flawlessly and this pen is no different. I would recommend the steel nib option over the gold nib, given the price difference. Two things are less than perfect with this pen: first, the cut-out on the metal barrel for the ink window is not refined and the edges are sharp and unpleasant to the touch. I got used to it but I would have expected the cutout section to be better executed. Second, the grip section is a bit narrow in diameter. This, coupled with the smooth metal design, makes it somewhat slippery to grip the pen.

This pen surprised me, in a good way. It’s larger than I expected and heavier (but not overly so). It is solid and precision-engineered. Capping the pen seals off the ink chamber and the mechanism is smooth, precise and effective.
The extra-fine nib is perfectly tuned, and even after accidentally leaving it uncapped for almost half an hour it still wrote immediately. The pen does not post.
Overall, it inspires confidence: a solid, stable and reliable writing stick.
Filling it is easy and quite fun! Almost a pity that with the huge capacity I won’t have the pleasure of doing so very often.
As usual, Appelboom reliably delivered quickly with excellent packaging that is a joy to open. Thank you!

A hefty pen but a delight to write with. The amount of ink it can hold is perfect for a multi stay at a hotel for vacation or work. It's completely travel safe and writes well. Very pleased with my purchase. Thank you Appelboom.
