The Carene (F) fountain pen does not disappoint
The sleek design coupled with the inlaid nib is just gorgeous. Perfectly balanced whether posted or unposted. The nib writes very smoothly with hardly any feedback.
However, there appears to be a little problem with leakage. I tried to fill the converter full of ink and it leaked from the breather hole. Using the converter normally, the pen three quarter full seems fine. The breather hole is situated in the grip section and may provide a problem when filling with a bottle of low ink. Minor quibbles considering the beauty of the pen.
The elegant design and writing experience of the Waterman Carene has given me such pleasure since I got it.
The service from Appelboom is second to none. Not only is it packaged well, the pen is also gift wrapped. Included was a complimentary notebook and a couple of stroopwafels. If this is Appelboom's online service, visiting the store in Laren must surely be a very pleasing experience. Thank you.

It is truly a great pen. It has good weight, balance and smoothness. If it could write a bit finer, it will be untouchable!
I would like to mention the great service from Appleboom. Although I am located in CA, USA I had no issue with the purchase and follow-up with Appleboom!
