I got the Hexo black because I liked the design. It fits the designer/architect look. The nib is a medium and writes smoothly. It is the same nib as the grip. I would have liked it more Wuhan it was the same nib as the loom or essentio. Overal a Nice pen of the design appeals to you.

This was my second fountain pen. I got it with a fine nib. It writes well, but I find my to be extremely wet! It is almost as wet as my Lamy 2000. Not quite, but close. I don’t mind it, I just find it peculiar how wet it is, especially for a fine.
It doesn’t have a real grip section if you ask me. It’s all one body. As for the step down to the small bit of metal, I don’t see how that’s a grip section. Maybe that’s just me though. The cap is metal and heavy in comparison to the body of the pen. It post with a snap. The weight of the cap does make posting feel a little unbalanced. Though I go back and forth on posting it or not.

This is a good no-nonsense pen. The nib is smooth and reliable (I have an F nib). The pen posts securely, but the cap is heavy and makes the pen very top-heavy. The other complaint I have is the pen has a very small section, and a sharp step-down between the barrel and the section. If you are comfortable holding the pen at the bottom of the barrel, it's a comfortable pen. The pen itself is light and easy to handle.

Another thing to be mindful of is that the lower-end models don't include converters in the package...my black version did not have a converter, but the pearwood model (which is much more expensive) did have one in the box.

Overall, for the price I definitely recommend it.
