This is one nice pen! I own several pens from all kinds of materials and brands, but I didn't have a Diplomat yet.
This is a metal pen that is treated with a blowtorch to give each pen a unique color. I really like the color of mine! It is a slim, slender pen, which is not always my first choice. I like pens with a bit more body, but this slim writer lies very sophisticated in the hand. Just a warning for people with large hands, this might be a bit too slender for your paws :)
The pen writes fantastic The F nib is exactly that, fine enough but not too fine. It has a very consistent ink flow and it writes out of the box without any tinkering, which for me shows quality control from the manufacturer. The metal feels cool and reassuring to the touch, despite the slenderness of the pen. I have no trouble with the surface being too slippery, it holds very well for me.

I bought this pen because it is the best value in a flame finish, but what surprised me was the Fine nib. It has line variation! I then watched SBRE Brown's review of it, and it does match my experience. Strange though, that the Diplomat #6 Fine nib (as found in the Aero) does not behave like this one at all.

Even though the cap does post, it does so reluctantly. I do not get the feedback that it is secure, but it does stay on.

The pen is thin, but the feel is still good. Not for folks who applies a death grip to their pens.

The chrome furnishings are not an ideal match for the flame finish. Brass or a matte finish would suit better.

Highly recommended.

Though I had to wait a while for the pen to be ordered, it's well worth it. Beautiful design. Really something different with the flamed steel.

The pen is a slim pen, compared with my other fountain pen, more like a regular ballpoint thickness. Also it is light in weight, so suits the Traveller line.

I selected the fine tip, which writes with a very clean line. Using black Waterman Ink, the pen writes smooth.
