A fairly wet writer, with a lovely flexy and soft nib. With absolutely no pressure it may start as an extra-fine, but it flexes to a fine almost at once and doesn't need much pressure to get much wider. Don't think this is a pen for heavy-handed writers. The red ebonite looks great and is well-polished.
I cleaned the pen before using (not tried before, so I can't tell if it's really needed (see comments on the black version of the pen).
