I am a great fan of the Montblanc Great Characters series and the MUHAMMAD ALI does not disappoint. The aesthetics are excellent. The tactile feel of the boxing glove bandages add to the intrigue. The weight and balance is wonderful and the nib is a joy to write with. This pen is among my favorites!

A very beautiful and impressive fountain, which is like the former world champion Mohammed Ali. It was a great boxer, the best in his time, known as Cassius Clay and later as Mohammed Ali. A fountain pen called after him, a great honor. Writes smoothly, is a little heavy, but is right balancing in your hand. Good advice of Appelboom, bought more often always a pleasure to buy luxury pens. Good seller. Also a good service.

Mohammed Ali was one of greatest of all times and this pen is a fitting tribute to his example. The Fine nib that I requested for this pen writes with a nicely thin line width. The pen has a nice heft to it but also fits nicely in my hand and is easy to write with. What’s not to like!

This Great Character homage to Muhammad Ali is another spectacularly beautiful tribute to a legendary figure. The only minor quip is that, unlike the elaborate packaging of some of the other Great Characters pens — like the Hendrix and the Brothers Grimm — the packaging for the Ali pen is quite modest and comes in a small cardboard box with a nice booklet about Ali. The pen itself is quite substantial in weight and size; and it is full of details about Ali’s boxing career. The piston filling mechanism works flawlessly, as does the medium nib on the one I ordered from Appelboom, which had this pen for the best price.
