My first Leonardo, and it's a wonderful pen. It fits in the hand nicely and allows for comfortable writing for extended periods. I paid extra for the flexible nib, and it works fine. My 823's FA nib is softer and provides a more varied line, but also scratchy. The Leonardo nib is relatively smooth with slight feedback. Perhaps I just need to break the nib in so to speak. The piston is a bit clunky, there are many rotations to go through and it is a bit still, but once again, probably needs break-in time to smoothen and loosen up. The colorway is beautiful, it's an attractive pen that will stay with me for a good long while. It's an excellent pen that I can wholeheartedly recommend.

Review Title: Perfect pen?

My first Leonardo Officiana fountain pen (but definitely won't be the last). Appelboom made it possible with a sweet deal on Fountain Pen Day. Came with an elastic fine nib. The material is a nice beautiful acrylic with a depth pattern and wavy alternating light and dark shades across, which is good for a variegated appearance. Tad similar to the Pelikan ocean swirl but the latter is definitely more detailed. The proportion is large and it rivals MB 149 but the nib is #6. What makes this proportion very aesthetic is the tapered writing section which is comfortable and unique. The trims are exuberant but still luxurious and pretty. Ink capacity is good. Nib is a perfect combo of smoothness, feedback and wetness. Hardly have seen a better one. The nib gives a good bounce but not a flexy nib if you wish to compare to a vintage one. The only gripe is the play in piston. There a lot of play in that before it engages. Acceptable? Dunno. But seems a blemish on an otherwise a perfect pen.

Review Title: Furore Grande Purple

I was struck by the rose gold trim on the dark purple with light swirl pearlescent mixed. The photo does not do any justice! You need to see it in person!
The 14k rose gold fine nib writes very smooth with a hint of feed back, straight out from the box. It is also a very wet nib probably due to the thin Profile ebonite feeder. With its large capacity of the piston filled reservoir, it will last for many pages.
The Leonardo Furore Grande is a large, over sized fountain pen. However, it is well proportioned and it’s elegant torpedo shapes design, it will fit perfectly in any hand.
I have been writing with this pen every day for the past few weeks and it is one of my most loved pens in my collection. I cannot wait for my fourth Leonardo pen, the Momento Zero grande Girasole, which is on order from Appelboom. Hopefully this will arrive in the next few days.
