The guilloche engraving on the pen is covered with a vivid blue transparent lacquer, which makes the Diplomat Skyline an unique writing instrument.

The Diplomat Excellence A Skyline CT Fountain pen has a steel nib (several sizes) or you can choose a 14 kt gold bicolor nib (several sizes). The pen uses cartridges or a converter.

Diplomat make some of the finest fountain pens I have had the pleasure to use. Their nibs made of steel or gold are consistently tuned to perfection. The Skyline model is a beautiful radiant blue on a traditional body.
I purchased the broad nib that as mentioned is perfectly tuned, perfect ink flow, smoothness, and a good weight for long writing sessions. I purchased the Skyline with the 14ct gold nib that has a little bounce. I also have the Excellence A model with a steel nib that is the finest steel nib I have ever used. I would say if you are thinking about a Diplomat pen rest assure you will be getting a fine writing instrument.
