I have always liked the Visconti range of fountains pens (over and above the MBs). This is my fourth Visconti from Appelboom - whose service for someone living overseas is excellent. And I have the received the same comments from friends whom I have recommended Appelboom to.

I wanted the Terrra Di Siena as I use a lot of red ink in my work and wanted the barrel to match the colour of the ink (as much as possible).

Having used the Visconti Homo Sapiens range, I must say that the nib (all EF) I am using is smooth and is fine enough for constant daily writing - my first Visconti has lasted me more than two years of constant use without any reduction in writing quality.

The weight and size of the pen is just nice for male hands, although the ladies may not find it as feminine. The 'lava' material is cool to the touch and does not seem to 'heat up' with prolonged writing and is very comfortable.

All in all, I am more than satisfied with the product and service..
