Lamy is an independent family-owned enterprise which was established in 1930 by , former Parker employee, C. Josef Lamy in Heidelberg. The Lamy brand has existed since 1952 and proved its innovative prowess in the very first year with the completely novel Lamy 27 fountain pen series. And in 1966 the distinctive style of Lamy Design was born with the Lamy 2000.

Review Title: Lamy Brushed SS w/LH steel Nib & Z57 Gold "F" Nib

Picked this particular brushed SS Studio as it has a different material where I grip the fountain pen. The brushed SS has a rubber like grip section, and it works great. I've only just received the pen, so I'm only tried out the SS LH Nib first. I'll try the gold "F" Nib another time. The reviews on Lamy's gold Nibs seem to always get solid reviews. The black/gold nibs look pretty sharp. I like gold nibs, and that may be an unfounded reason to spend more, but I'm ok with that decision. I loved the little treats included, plus the marker pen. The fountain pen is nice looking, has a push/pull cap, and clicks on for posting ~ very secure. Thank you Laren for the wrapping, (and Joost) Excellent :-)

The pen is attractive and went for this over metal section versions as I thought it would be less slippery. On the threads of the section there is a gouge in the plastic caused by heat in manufacturing process I assume. Seems to work okay for now, but does make one wonder about build quality.

Nice and light, easy to write with and the matte black finish greatly helps finger grip if you have slippery fingers. Absolute design classic - simple, elegant. Beautiful shape especially when capped and the clip is the best example of form and function. An excellent pen for the price.
