The Montblanc Starwalker was first launched in 2003 and has become the modern icon of Montblanc. The new streamlined 2019 edition, reviving the iconic Starwalker design elements, will be about the future: exemplifying the engineering capabilities of the Maison. The collection is themed around space exploration, with the blue dome resembling our planet and the Montblanc emblem being reminiscent to the clouds, just as the astronauts would have seen the earth when they made their first visit to the moon 50 year ago in 1969.

The Montblanc Starwalker fountain pen has a 14 kt gold nib (EF, F, M and B) and uses cartridges (no converter).

This design is the same as any other Starwalker but the finial is different from other models. The old model just has the floating snowflake whereas the 2019 version has a floating snowflake over a blue instead of the invisible cloud. The blue represents earth and the change was in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. This is a beautiful and modern pen.

The pen itself is on the medium size, around the size of a Pilot vP, Lamy Safari, but smaller than a Montblanc 146. The pen itself writes smoothly. The cap on the doue is a fingerprint trap but can be cleaned with a microfiber cloth. The grip, at least in my opinion takes a bit of getting used to, but can be learned; the grip is not as weird as the VP.

When it comes to value, you are buying a Montblanc which means you are paying for the name but this pen is worth it in my opinion. Montblanc will tell you that you can't use this with a converter but it does work with the 'Faber-Castell Converter.'

This pen is very nicely finished and feels comfortable and balanced in the hand. The nib is smooth writing with no skips and produces a good ink flow with no skips.

It is a very nice addition to my collection!

Mooie pen met een blauw accent onder het Montblanc embleem, een mooi verschil met de voorgangen. De rondingen van de pen zijn ook anders en de achterkant is nu vlak in plaats van rond.

Een mooie pen, en schrijft ontzettend soepel.
