Condition

The pen has been inked previously but has been thoroughly cleaned. Minor signs of wear consistent with age and careful use. The pen has been lovingly used and remains in beautiful condition.

This edition is exceptionally difficult to find. The pen was produced exclusively for Volkswagen and distributed as a gift to the first buyers of the Volkswagen Phaeton model.

The Omas Phaeton is an oversized celluloid piston-filling fountain pen. Only 650 pieces were made to promote Volkswagen’s flagship Phaeton model. This edition was never commercially available; all 650 pens were distributed solely through Volkswagen.

The pen features the classic Ogiva shape (cigar-shaped design) and feels exceptionally solid, with a balanced medium weight and precise construction. The clip is sturdy and fitted with an integrated roller mechanism, allowing the pen to slide smoothly in and out of a shirt pocket. A distinctive detail is the metal finial at the end of the cap.

The piston-filling system operates smoothly and reliably, while the Pearl Grey celluloid has a stunning appearance. This is an aesthetically beautiful, exceptionally well-made writing instrument that is now almost impossible to find on the secondary market.
