Smooth, light, beautiful and practical writing instrument. The nib (F) is great, though also thinner than most of the German\ Italian fountain pens in the same size.

If you really want to buy One Fountain Pen only in your whole life then this is the pen to go for. The Urushi lacquer on the pen give it a very premium look and the 18K Gold nib of Pilot is the best on the planet.

I have had the Pilot Custom 823 for several years and been well pleased with its performance. Yet I must now confess the Custom 845 Urushi exceeds this performance. Smoother, lighter, better designed with its Urushi finish, this is truly the flagship available to us outside of Japan. Classic design, beautiful ergonomics and flawless writing performance, this is the top of line Pilot pen in a consumer level price range.

The nib on my Pilot Custom 845 is amazing. I prefer nibs that are extra fine or fine depending on the brand and the fine nib on my pen is incredibly smooth, probably my favorite nib in my collection as of now. Great service from Appelboom!!!
