For nearly two hundred years, the traditional Composition Notebook has remained virtually unchanged. Evolved from the ancient Japanese art of Suminagashi, its unique black and white marbled cover has graced the desks of schoolchildren and scholars, artists and authors. It has been a top seller for manufacturers since it arrived in the US from France in 1887, due to its approachable, humble nature and its accessibility everywhere school and office supplies can be found.
Now two classics meet. >Introducing the Camden Composition.
A tribute to the heritage of both the Esterbrook Camden and the classic Composition Notebook, this limited release is an homage to schoolwork and notetaking, to the words of yesteryear and carrying the tradition of analog into future. The Camden Composition will be offered in three specially engineered finishes in editions of 250 pieces each: Back to School Black, Fall Leaves Burgundy and Spring Break Fluorescent Green are available in Fine, Medium and Broad nibs, with Rhodium trim.Whether for your boardroom, classroom, or collection, the Camden Composition is a fountain pen for all seasons.
The Esterbrook Camden is named for the city where Richard Esterbrook settled his company, the Esterbrook Camden collection speaks to a time in the 1930’s when Camden, NJ was at its most prosperous and home to some of the most important innovations of its day. Perhaps most famously, it was the birthplace of RCA Victor where, in 1933, an experimental TV station broadcast would be the first signs of technology that would ultimately eclipse the radio. As RCA was producing millions of records, Esterbrook was producing millions of pens. One can almost hear the sounds of the production belts humming along still. Now, this dignified American town of the early twentieth century, translates to an equally classic pen. As records have made their comeback in the last decade, so too, has the American fountain pen. Produced in three colors, Rose, Graphite and Silver, with bright silver hardware, the Camden, is streamlined and sleek. Designed for ultimate comfort when writing, the pen features a contoured grip section and a satin-like finish with a grain that harkens to the grooves on a record. The pen is balanced with a weight that feels substantial without feeling like, well, heavy metal. Whether you are penning daily notes, journaling, planning, or writing the next great tune for the American songbook, the Esterbrook Camden will become a standard in your collection.
Times may be different, values stay. The Esterbrook Pen Company, a true American Original since 1858, is rewriting its long success story in modern times with a fresh new pen collection based on a complete rebranding. Join the revolution!
