The 1931 Toledo was issued originally in the year 2003 as a part of the 5 series of pens called Pelikans of their Time. These are pens that in the Golden Age of Fountain Pens where small in your pocket and large in your hands, based on how the pen cap posted on the barrel. As was done in the vintage original, the eye-catcher on this etraordinary fountain peni s a valuable Toledo barrel made in Toledo, Spain in the exquisite tradition of Damascene art. In meticolous hand-work, ornaments of gold are laid into the basic iron material. In twelve steps, the wafer-thin golden patterns are processed and carefully embossed into the iron with the finest special tools. Most of all it is distinguished by its ring which is hand-made in Toledo – the city that gave this jewel its name.
