The Safari, since 1980, is the classic Lamy design and remains one of the best-value ranges of quality pens around. Tough ABS plastic construction with strong wire pocket clips. Lamy Safari is robust and good value enough to be popular in school, yet the high quality and excellent writing characteristics appeal to experienced fountain pen users and collectors.

The fountain pen has an inkcartridge filling system (can be modified for use with converter). Stainless steel nib with several nibs.

Lamy is an independent family-owned enterprise which was established in 1930 by , former Parker employee, C. Josef Lamy in Heidelberg. The Lamy brand has existed since 1952 and proved its innovative prowess in the very first year with the completely novel Lamy 27 fountain pen series. And in 1966 the distinctive style of Lamy Design was born with the Lamy 2000.

I like demonstrator fountain pens. I buy LAMY VISTA because they are affordable, I use de Z28 converter for the beautiful red color, and I mount my LAMY pens with LAMY Z55 GOLD NIBS. The LAMY pens are great with their steel nibs, but with the GOLD NIBS they become outstanding. They become agreeably wet, write smoothly and you get some feedback and some line variation.
