Got it with a fine nib, which is just right for taking notes for work. Was a little concerned how such a large pen would fit my smallish hands but turns out it fits much better than some smaller pens.

Excellent, excellent pen. Got it with a medium nib, which is not scratchy at all. The looks are just gorgeous. The materials feel (and are) premium quality. The pen was backordered and thus the shipment a bit delayed, but I was maintained well informed of the package whereabouts. No complaints there. In summary, I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

Very nice big transparent pen !
Easy to use and the color of the ink inside is so pleasent to look at.
The stub nib gives you nice line variations and is soft on the paper IF you use a very glidy paper: Rhodia or Clairfontaine for example.

The Opus 88 Demonstrator is a big pen, but not heavy and I find it very comfortable to write with. With the valve open it's lovely wet writer and is currently my go-to pen. The build quality is good and, if you like clear demonstrator pens, it's stunning to look at. Holds loads of ink too, as you might expect from an eyedropper.

I was on the lookout for a fountain pen that would highlight the vibrancy of sheening inks and the crispness of 52gsm stationery paper and I found it - the Opus 88 Demonstrator (Broad) created the trifecta of a joyous writing experience when ink, paper and pen blend in perfect harmony. It's my first Opus fountain pen, I'm impressed with the quality, a lot of more expensive fountain pens have writing problems, especially because of the nib.
pros:
- I like the oversized dimensions of this pen, altough it is not a heavy one
- good ink flow, it can be regulate a bit with the termination knob rotation, it is also safe for transport when the piston stops the ink from the barrel.
- big ink capacity, more than 3 ml.
- good design and functionality, for every day using
- no.6 nib
contras:
- almost nothing, maybe a little bit of hard starting...

First, thank you Appelboom for fast, efficient and friendly service!

I ordered this Opus 88 Koloro clear demonstrator with medium steel nib and asked for a cursive italic modification which was expertly done by Ms Annabel Hillier. The pen itself hold such a lot of ink in the reservoir which is eye dropper filled. Flow the nib and feed is regulated by opening the piston which allows Ing to flow from the main reservoir into the feed. Unscrewing the piston knob feels a little ‘squeaky’ but it’s not a big deal for me. This is a fairly big pen but is very well-balanced in hand. The largish cap cannot be posted.

Though it is a slightly bigger pen, long writing sessions don’t seem to be too tiring. I think the excellent cursive italic grind which I have reviewed seperately makes writing with this already fun pen even more fun!

The Opus 88 clear Demonstrator Pen is the perfect writing tool for me.
It is a really big pen and i like it, there is enough place for a lot of ink, the nib is smooth, it works really good.

The overall design of this fountain pen is beautiful; neither subdued, nor shiny, just the right balance, with a great construction and a very smooth nib. The cap is a bit squeaky when rotating, but this disappears within a few days. I'm very happy with it, and I recommend it.

This is the third Opus 88 I own. And it is as wonderful as the two Omars (one black the other a demonstrator) I already use.

I waited a little while for a broad nib and I am glad I did so. IT writes beautifully (which is more than I can say for me :)).

I have a fondness for demonstrator pens and minimalist design and the Koloro demonstrator hits the mark on these.

Interestingly the straight barrel feels much different in the hand than the slightly cigar-shaped barrel of the Omar. This is not a criticism - but an observation. I use the two pens together during the day and this made me notice the difference.

Currently, I have the Koloro ink with Iroshizuku Ebisuand the pale blue of the ink makes the pen into a sapphire jewel on my desk.

I am extremely happy with the pen and the excellent service received from Appelboom. Doubtless, I will be visiting the store again.

Sinds de middelbare school heb ik niet meer met vulpen geschreven, maar steeds bleef de interesse in het schrijven met een vulpen wel. Destijds wist ik evenwel niet dat er naast de Parker's en Watermannen van deze wereld zo'n keuze was. Na veel onderzoek, wikken en wegen, heb ik voor de Opus 88 Demonstrator gekozen als mijn herinstap in het schrijven met een vulpen, 20 jaar nadat ik ermee gestopt ben. Ik ben bijzonder blij met de keuze die ik gemaakt hebt. De Demonstrator is een zeer mooie, grote pen in prachtig afgewerkt acryl en schrijft zeer goed en aangenaam. Het eyedropper systeem is een leuke gimmick en zorgt ervoor dat de pen ongelooflijk veel inkt kan bevatten en maar blijft schrijven. Ook ben ik zeer tevreden van de persoonlijke en vriendelijke service van Appelboom!

A gorgeous and huge fountain pen, made out of a clear and frosted acrylic resin. It is an eyedropper pen with a piston operated shut-off valve, that keeps a lot of ink.
For me, the most interesting part of this pen is that, if you unscrew the Jowo nib unit, you can insert the Pilot Parallel pen nib and feed. Now, the 6mm Parallel nib and not have to worry about ink-flow or refilling.

This modestly priced brand brought something new to the fountain pen landscape: a high-end eyedropper filling system previously only available on vintage Japanese pens or on obscenely expensive modern ones. It's my favorite filling system, with enormous capacity, ease of cleaning/maintenance, and great flow. This model is my favorite among the Opus 88 pens.

Though a very large pen, I find it very comfortable to use, and I’m a woman with small hands.

The build quality is fantastic. Good tolerances, great finish, and the clip is removable if, like me, you prefer to accentuate its clean, minimalist shape.

This pen comes with a typically smooth and pleasant Jowo #6 nib. But, because it uses a standard #6 Jowo housing, it's very versatile if you're into nib swapping/frankenpenning. It can even take a Pilot Parallel nib.

NOTE: this pen does not post. That’s no big deal for me, but some people find this an important detail. If you need a pen that posts, other Opus 88 models do so.

First up. It is a great pen and a pen I will recommend. I am very pleased with the weight and feel of it, and the way you can see the ink in the clear demonstrator is very nice indeed. That said. I have had mine burp in my pocket - luckily the cap held the spillage. Also the nib is a bit picky with angles. (or maybe it is a little overpolished...) but a smooth operator over all - and a joy to own despite.
