La société allemande Rohrer & Klingner a été fondée en 1907 par Johann Adolf Rohrer junior et son associé Felix Arthur Klingner. Aujourd'hui, déjà la cinquième génération d'employés maintient la longue tradition de fabrication d'encre de l'entreprise. Leurs produits sont fabriqués à la main, selon des recettes bien établies, en combinant principalement des liants naturels avec les colorants respectifs.
