The Montblanc 146P, also called Le Grand Platinum Line is a very reasonable pen for every day life's needs though the price is very high. I like the classic design of the 146P very much. In contrast, the 149 has an appeareance that is not as beautiful as the 149 but it is a bit more ergonomic for long writing sessions. The nib is not perfect ( I possess some other nibs I like a little bit more) but very reliable and performs in most cases and on most papers well.

The Montblanc 146 platinum is in the favorite size and in perfect shape. It is the best size for almost everyone with a perfect weight and a smooth nib. It is really a fantastic fountain pen

It is called the "Masterpiece" for a reason. Classic design, beautifully packaged, outstanding writing experience. The fine nib is comparable to a Japanese (Sailor/Pilot) medium, mine is a bit on the broad side. It is the smoothest nib I own but still has good feedback. The platinum trim is beautiful, but you can't go wrong with the gold or rose gold options either (I have both in the 149). This is an heirloom writing instrument that is an everyday writer.

I only buy pens from Appelboom. Their customer service is unmatched and they clearly take pride in their profession and company. Cost is not an issue when the service is this great but they do have very reasonable prices for their products as well. Absolutely a pleasure doing business with them and I will continue to buy from them in the future.

I am very happy with the Le grand PT 146. The pen is comfortable to hold and the Fine nib is smooth and wet. It has become my daily writer; it is a sheer pleasure to write with!

This was my first purchase from Appelboom and it will not be my last. Appelboom's customer service is outstanding (they answer emails quickly and courteously) and the pen was shipped to me at lightning-speed (it arrived in the USA in two days). All in all, a great buying experience!

I couldn't have asked for a better experience when buying this classic Montblanc fountain pen. This was my first time purchasing from Appelboom, but it won't be my last. Shipping to the United States was easy and prompt. The ONLY bad thing about this purchase is that I'm now hooked on stroopwafels after their being included in the box with the pen! This is the first time I buy a fountain pen from Appelboom. Joost is very helpful within the whole process. Great price for a MontBlanc, especially when one cost over AUD 1000 from local stores in Australia. I have a Pt146 with fine nib which writes smoothly and wet. A fabulous pen for every day writing.
