The Curtis America 400 is part of the handcrafted Adventurer Series, a collection of sterling silver writing instruments inspired by historic voyages and remarkable moments in exploration.

Design & History

The America 400 commemorates the 400th anniversary of the voyage of the three ships Godspeed, Susan Constant and Discovery, which sailed from England towards the New World in 1607. The expedition ultimately led to the establishment of Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in North America.

The cap is richly detailed with depictions of the three ships under full sail, while the barrel features illustrations inspired by original drawings from sailmakers of the period. A finely crafted compass rose completes the design at the end of the pen.

Nib & Filling System

The fountain pen features an engraved, two-tone 18-karat gold nib with an iridium tip. The nib is not marked with a size; based on the nib and model, we believe it is probably Medium (M).

The cartridge/converter filling system allows for flexible use of bottled ink or cartridges.
