Taccia Ho-So-Ge Chin-Kin Urushi Tan-rei Fountain pen

The Taccia Ho-So-Ge Chin-Kin Urushi fountain pen is a lacquer fountain pen that expresses the traditional imaginary flower pattern called Ho-So-Ge with Chin-kin technique. The Chin-kin is one of the decoration techniques, in which a pattern is carved with a chisel, and after it is made, the pattern is drawn by filling it with gold, silver, or colored powder. In addition, the Ho-So-Ge painted in the Chin-kin technique is a traditional decorative pattern found in ancient China and Japan, and is a stylized imaginary flower. This gorgeous and elegant pattern has been widely used in Buddhist art, architecture, and furnishings. About the artist: Shibayama Yoshinori

Born in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Studied under Katsuhiro Nishi. While inheriting traditional techniques, he pursue the transparency and new possibilities of Chin-kin. He has held solo exhibitions at home and abroad, and has received high praise for Chin-kin’s outstanding technique.

Each pattern is limited to 50 pieces with the craftsman's signature and serial number. The craftsman's handwritten signature and serial number are written on the end of the shaft.The Taccia Ho-So-Ge Chin-Kin Urushi fountain pen uses an 18k large gold nib, made in Japan by Sailor - exclusively for Taccia - and has a cartridge/converter filling mechanism. The gift box is made of paulownia wood, which gives it a luxurious feel.
