The Nova lacquer finish is created by more than twenty-three layers of lacquer and hand decoration on a brass cap and barrel providing for a unique look for every pen individually. The pen has a 23K gold plated cap band that reads “Sheaffer”, U.S.A. and “Gold Electroplate”. The recognizable white Sheaffer dot stands proudly on the upper part of the clip.
