The Visconti Van Gogh ”Souvenir de Mauve” Fountain pen is made of natural vegetal burnt resin with colourfull variations and is inspired on Vincent Van Gogh’s famous painting, “Souvenir de Mauve”, April-May 1888, oil on canvas.

The name of the painting and artist are delicately engraved around the pen’s ring, and each pen is packed into a unique gift box that is complemented with a faithfully reproduced canvas of the painting. The pen itself utilizes Visconti’s eighteen-faceted design, the many edges enhancing the vivid colors of the pen.

The Visconti fountain pen has a stainless steel nib, available in several line widths, and uses standard international cartridges or the supplied converter. The Van Gogh fountain pen is also available with a large nib (model A10), which bears the name of the painter.

The collection can be personalized using the well-known Visconti patent- My Pen System – with the instant application of the initials, the zodiac sign or the semi-precious stone preferred by the fortunate future owner of a Visconti pen. The My Pen System applications can be found in our webstore.

The name Visconti has been for the past twenty years a synonym for writing instruments of extraordinary beauty, historically and technologically studied. The fountain pens, rollers and ballpoint pens by Visconti make up a wide range of high quality instruments with a strong identification.

Initially I was not taken in with the Mauves model as I thought it bland. But I did order it in Broad nib and the pen writes beautifully with the enclosed 30 ml special Mauves ink. I have several Van Gogh pens and each time I write with one of them I feel I am holding a piece of Van Gogh’s paintings!

I owned this pen before and I was very much fond of it. Unfortunately, when I purchased this pen again this time, it’s kind of disappointing for two reasons: 1) the original intricate floral design of the nib is displaced by a simpler and dull pattern, which I personally am not opt to. 2) there is no pink mauve ink along with the pen in the box any more; the box is also smaller and less delicate compared to the old version. I wish Visconti can resume the old version.
