Description
The TWSBI Diamond 580 ALR is a fountain pen with piston filling system. The TWSBI Diamond 580 is made of polycarbonate, with chrome plated details. The cap is smooth while the barrel is faceted. The gripping section, connector and screw of the TWSBI Diamond 580 ALR are all made of metal. The TWSBI Diamond 580 ALR fountain pen has clear barrel that shows the mechanism very well. The clear body gives the TWSBI also a different look witht he ink it is filled with. The TWSBI logo finish the top of the cap.
The TWSBI Diamond 580 Fountain pen has a polished stainless steel nib engraved with the TWSBI logo, available in several sizes.
TWSBI fountain pens can be entirely disassembled for the purposes of cleaning and servicing. Instructions and necessary tools are supplied with each TWSBI fountain pen. Please note that the disassembly feature is only there for experienced users and is not necessary for normal use. Disassembly is at your own risk!
With a history of more than 40 years of manufacturing, including producing high-end pens for other brands, Ta Shin Precision decided to start selling under their own brand, TWSBI. The name TWSBI is made up from TWS and BI. ‘TWS’ is the reversed initials of the phrase ‘San Wen Tong’, translated Hall of Three Cultures, and ‘BI’ literally means writing instrument.

When I got this pen I was kind of surprised. It is even more beautiful in real life than in the pictures. Even though blue isn’t normally my colour, this Prussian blue looks so nice and noble.
Also the nib performs really well and the pen holds a lot of ink. I love writing with it and seeing the ink move inside. Fantastic pen!

I am very happy with this new Twsbi (which arrived in a beautifully wrapped box with mini waffles… a present to myself that I had pleasure opening even though I knew what was inside. . As usual for a Twsbi, it comes with silicon grease and wrench, which appeals to my geeky side.
I like the blue color (it is more teal than the blue on the website photo) The finial looks really cool, I enjoy the ribbed section which color matches with the other blue parts of the pen.
The line width is on the thicker side of medium, which is a bit of an issue for me. My other Twsbi is an Eco with a fine nib, which was a little too ‘feedbacky’. This nib is much smoother but a bit of a gusher and a bit too thick.
I use it with Diamine Prussian Blue, it is not a perfect match but it is not too bad.

gorgeous colour. Decided to go with the fine nib this time around and TWSBI did not disappoint. The massive ink reserve is the pen’s biggest plus point! Got it at a good price too. And rapid delivery

Grande, bonita y accesible. No recuerdo la capacidad de almacenamiento pero vaya que es grande. Luce bastante que sea transparente.
Muy bien para sesiones de escritura y demás.
Recomendable al 100%.

Writes perfectly out of the box. Feels very high quality in the hands. Perfect weight at 30g. The metal fittings are similar color to Edelstein Apatite Color of the Year, I have that loaded in mine.

This is my first TWISBI and I must say I am very happy with it.
I heart a lot about this company.
Now I gave them a shot.
1.1 Nib, does the job perfectly.
The nib is smooth and wet.
Awesome too, is the included grease and tool to open the pen, service and experience even more.

Mti diesem Füller bin ich in die Welt der Kolbenfüller eingestiegen und bin begeistert. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist super. Man bekommt für sein Geld ein schönes, funktionales Schreibgerät,

As we have come to expect from TWSBI, this fountain pen also is a very reliable ‘easy daily carry’ one. Robust, nicely flowing, smoothly writing n°5 JoWo nib(s) (in this case a 1.1 mm stub). De grip of the ALR is minutely grooved which makes it non-slippery, a bonus for those of us with a bit more greasier hands, and the pen is easy to maintain. In other words: you can’t really go wrong by adding this pen to your collection if you like the way it looks, which I do: always sweet to watch that ink slushing in the barrel.

I own a 580 AL with a broad nib. My wife tried it and loved it immediately. The ALR grip is grooved which gives this pen a better more relaxed grip. So I surprised her with this one.
Also nice to know. The pen is inked up with J.Herbin ‘Bleu des Profondeurs’. A dark black & blue ink. The combination of this dark blue ink with a broad nib and the TWSBI are great.
