Pelikan continues its colourful midsize series with the Souverän M605 Green-White: a fresh colour combination, combined with silver coloured details.
The white parts are made of high-quality resin that is first turned and then polished to a high sheen. The barrel with the white and green stripes is made of cellulose acetate that was very carefully manufactured and turned into a sleeve. The characteristic double rings at the back of the barrel and on the cap are integrated into the material, to obtain a virtually seamless transition between the materials. Every single writing instrument is mounted by hand and carefully checked to fulfill the strictest quality criteria.
The M605 Green-White fountain pen has a piston filling mechanism.
It is equipped with a rhodinized 14 carat gold nib and will be available in 4 nib widths: EF, F, M and B.

If you are a fan of the piston-fillers, and a green white color scheme appeals to you, then this is a pen for you! The white resin compliments the chatoyant kelly green stripes in the celluloid acetate barrel. The rhodinated, silver-colored furniture completes a pleasant, subtle look.
The modern Pelikan M600/605 is a small step up in size from the classic M400/405, yet maintains a wonderful neutral balance when posted, and weighs in at under 20g. For me the M605 is ideal for long writing sessions and daily note-taking. The 14k gold nib is classic Pelikan: a bit round and boring, but butter smooth and flawless for everyday writing.
The only thing I would knock on this pen: the somewhat elevated MSRP. Fortunately, I was able to purchase the pen at a good price during a promotion from Appelboom! If you can find this pen at a good discount, and you like the color, don’t hesitate! Production is limited, and they seem to be going fast…

I own the M 1000 and M 800 already but the colour combination ecticed me to go for a smaller version of M1000. Glides on the paper , looks a piece of art in the hand. Must buy.

Pelikan Souverän fountain pens are relatively expensive, but write with consistently exceptional smoothness. This is the fourth Souverän fountain pen in my collection, the first three with factory F or EF nibs.
For this green and white Souverän I chose a broad 14k nib with an excellent crisp Italic custom grind by Appelboom’s highly skilled nibmeister, Anabelle Hiller. It was worth waiting for, and is a pleasure to use.
