The Montblanc Meisterstück Le Grand is slimmer and slightly smaller than the Meisterstück 149 fountain pen. Both the barrel and cap are made of black precious resin inlaid with the Montblanc emblem with gold-plated clip and rings. Each Meisterstück has a unique serial number.

I recently ordered the Reg Gold 161. There are several things I like about it, with only a couple ‘small’ things I wish were a bit different:
Likes:
– the craftsmanship of the pen is excellent
– the red gold is every bit as beautiful as I had hoped
– the smoothness of the mechanism is fantastic
– the overall color & elegance of the pen is fantastic
– the quality of the writing experience is exceptional
– Appelboom did a fantastic job with packing & shipping, very fast!
A couple small things I wish were different…size & weight:
– I have become a big fan of large, heavy pens. I would say the 161 is on the lighter side, and only what I would call a mid-sized pen. I absolutely knew these things before my purchase, but it doesn’t mean a little extra weight & size wouldn’t be great. 🙂
Overall, I am enjoying writing with this pen very much. I know I will enjoy and be proud to use it regularly for years to come!
