4 reviews for Montblanc Meisterstück Glacier Ink – Ink Bottle

The MB Glacier Blue is a well-behaved moderately saturated blue ink. It’s a perfectly fine ink. No complaints except that it also costs 4 times what an equivalent Diamine blue ink would cost.

I found a thorough review of the ink on the web and I love those squared Montblanc bottles. This was a treat to myself.

The behavior of the ink is quit unique for me. On some smooth slow drying white papers the ink has a bit of a green glow. But when dried that disappears. In my writing examples it always dried to a light blue black.

The ink is wet and has some shading. I love it very much and at the moment it’s my daily blue.

If you like the colour but not the price of a Montblanc exclusive there might be an alternative. As far as I can see the colour of the ink looks very much like Robert Oster Evening Sapphire.

This ink was bought with on of MB Glacier fountain pens. In the bottle it looks bluish, but on paper it initially appears lighter than what it is when it dries. It is more grayish and somewhat darker when it dries with hardly any hint of blue-green. I did notice it does not perform very well on office notepad papers as it keeps skipping so beware, this ink seeks very good paper. Could be cheaper though.

Beautiful blue color with a sense of transparency.
The very expression is some blue color seen in the reflection of ice crystals. The deepest color is a mysterious clear blue. And it has a soft impression, so I feel my eyes do not get tired.
It is fun to write on ivory paper, which sometimes has a slightly faded hue.
I like it so much that I will buy it again when the ink runs out.
