    Brand: Montblanc

The Montblanc Heritage Egyptomania Collection celebrates the pioneering spirit of Montblanc. Reinterpreting the writing instrument, it features a longer, slimmer silhouette and craftsmanship refined over generations.

With its octagonal shape, this writing instrument is reminiscent of the octagonal-shaped writing instruments designed by Montblanc in the 1920’s, which included Egyptian-style engravings: so-called “Egyptian pens”. Created in black precious resin, it features “Montblanc” on the barrel in Egyptian hieroglyphics, and a scarab beetle on the clip.

The fountain pen uses a piston filling mechanism and has a special edition 14kt gold nib, engraved with a scarab.

Montblanc is since 1908 a leader in the world of luxury. It is a symbol of quality, reliability and status. Many already havewritten with a Montblanc. All Montblanc products manufactured in Germany are of such quality that they may bear the familiar logo . Besides writing instruments, Montblanc also makes leather goods. Montblanc offers its products in a 2-year warranty.

Appelboom is authorized dealer of Montblanc.

Prettige en professionele service van Appelboom, super snelle levering en een fantastische pen met een van de prettigste penpunten van Montblanc waar ik ooit mee geschreven heb.

The Montblanc Heritage Egyptomania is very pleasant to write with. I ordered a nib in M which seemed relatively broad to me but wrote very fluidly out of the box with a little bit of line variation. I also have an Heritage 1912 with an EF nib which writes very well (not scratchy and quite wet, nice sensual writing experience for an EF nib) for an extra fine nib. I like the nibs of the heritage collection which are quite small ver y much because they are relatively soft, not so soft as the M1000 nibs, but very practical in every day life as the do not need so much ink as the M1000 in EF does. And they write with less line width. Very practical: The Egyptomania can not roll away easily as the Meisterstück collection does because they have an octagonal shape. Normally I don’t like fountain pens with gold trim. In this case it is different.

I had to wait for just under 6 months to get this pen fitted with a broad nib. I almost cancelled the order and am glad that I did not. The pen is an understated beauty with the antique looking metal finish and faceted contour. The nib is one of its highlights. It is a stub to italic type grind, offering great line variation with a lovely, light feedback. The nibs tuning is perfect.
