Description
The name Momento Zero, absolutely evoking, exactly means a new beginning, a start from scratch; the first pen made by a new company, based on experience and passion of a strong team. The Leonardo Momento Zero collection is inspired by the Italian vintage style, worldwide known; it’s a classic pen, well balanced with size and metal trims.
The fountain pen has a stainless steel nib in different sizes (Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad and Stub) and uses the standard international cartridge/converter filling mechanism (converter included).
And the story goes on… A family tradition. Leonardo Officina Italiana is a forge, a laboratory where experience and craftsmanship are mixed giving life to “pleasure”, the pleasure of writing.
Over 45 years of experience in the field of writing instruments, handed down from father to son, from generation to generation. Today Leonardo Officina Italiana works on emotional and vintage projects, taking up the old loading systems, the materials and the working techniques that once characterized the craft of the craftsman. The Leonardo pens have a soul, a human warmth that only passion can give. The fountain pen carved into the material is certainly this detail that differentiates us on the world market. Each Leonardo collection is hand made in Italy.

This is a really besutiful handmade Italian pen for a reasonable price. Ordered with nib tuning – the fine nib writes like a dream, smoothly and precisely, with balanced flow.

The pen when it first arrived was in the wrong nib, however a quick email to Appelboom solved the issue. Well done to Appelboom!
Now on to the pen itself, the material is cool to the touch and beautiful to look at. The step down to the grip section from the barrel is not sharp, and does not hurt the hand when writing for long periods of time. The M nib is nice and wet, and most importantly for me SMOOTH! Really pleased with the look, design, and quality of the pen.
These pens from Leonardo are just awesome. Highly recommend buying them!

This is my 2nd Momento Zero, I was so impressed with my first (the Blue Hawaii ST). This pen is at least as beautiful as the Blue Hawaii, maybe more so. The images capture the acrylic very well, although the blue on my pen is quite a bit darker. It’s a complex material, though, and rewards your gaze!
The build quality is excellent, as expected. The cap unscrews with a tick more than a single turn, the threads are smooth and flush with the section (the threading is beneath the section surface — very nicely designed) and don’t interfere with writing.
The pen has a comfortable weight in the hand when writing — it’s very light but not insubstantial, the EF nib is more or less the same as on my Blue Hawaii — a generous, wet, German EF. Mine is filled with Iroshizuku Hoteison and flows beautifully. I wouldn’t mind a thinner line, but it’s fine enough for my tiny handwriting.
I would recommend this pen very highly. For the price, it’s a luxuriously designed and executed product.
