Description
The Leonardo Momento Zero Grande ‘Pura’ collection consists of 3 captivating transparent resins with a satin finish, to enhance the internal soul of the pens. The fountain pens are composed of more than 20 manually worked details. For each Pura you can choose between gold, silver or ruthenium trims.
The Pura is available in EF, F, M, B and Stub1.1 grades, in both steel and gold.
The flexible Elastic nib (F) is also available in gold only.
The #6 size nibs with extra-resistant lamination are friction assembled (not screwed) and easily removable.
The Pura is equipped with a black ebonite feed and has a piston filling capacity of 1.5ml. Both of these parts are produced by Leonardo in their workshops.
Please note: the fountain pen is entirely handcrafted, therefore it is possible to find micro turning marks inside the pen body and cap.
Each MZ Grande fountain pen includes a 40ml ink bottle and is guaranteed for life against any manufacturing defects.
And the story goes on… A family tradition. Leonardo Officina Italiana is a forge, a laboratory where experience and craftsmanship are mixed giving life to “pleasure”, the pleasure of writing. Over 45 years of experience in the field of writing instruments, handed down from father to son, from generation to generation. Today Leonardo Officina Italiana works on emotional and vintage projects, taking up the old loading systems, the materials and the working techniques that once characterized the craft of the craftsman. The Leonardo pens have a soul, a human warmth that only passion can give. The fountain pen carved into the material is certainly this detail that differentiates us on the world market. Each Leonardo collection is hand made in Italy.

I was in need of a larger pen that is easier to hold (think arthritis/diabetic hands) and this pen fits the bill perfectly. It’s close in size to flagship pens of renowned German brands, with a girth that makes holding it easy.
The medium steel nib writes extremely smooth, even on regular, non-fountain pen friendly paper. It’s a standard Euro-medium, although I’ve learned that it is *very* sensitive to the ink being used. Expect bold lines when using a wet ink, and thin lines when using a dry ink—I suspect the high-performance ebonite feed attributes to this, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re not happy with the line thickness, switching ink really makes a difference.
The material is a beautiful satin-like translucent blue. Finish is immaculate and similar pens of other brands easily cost 2×, making this pen offering an amazing value.
