Description
The name Momento Zero, absolutely evoking, exactly means a new beginning, a start from scratch; the first pen made by a new company, based on experience and passion of a strong team. The Leonardo Momento Zero collection is inspired by the Italian vintage style, worldwide known; it’s a classic pen, well balanced with size and metal trims.
The fountain pen has a stainless steel nib in different sizes (Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad and Stub) and uses the standard international cartridge/converter filling mechanism (converter included).
And the story goes on… A family tradition. Leonardo Officina Italiana is a forge, a laboratory where experience and craftsmanship are mixed giving life to “pleasure”, the pleasure of writing.
Over 45 years of experience in the field of writing instruments, handed down from father to son, from generation to generation. Today Leonardo Officina Italiana works on emotional and vintage projects, taking up the old loading systems, the materials and the working techniques that once characterized the craft of the craftsman. The Leonardo pens have a soul, a human warmth that only passion can give. The fountain pen carved into the material is certainly this detail that differentiates us on the world market. Each Leonardo collection is hand made in Italy.

I had been wanting a Leonardo for quite some time. I hadn’t pulled the trigger due to high price (I’m relatively new to the fp hobby and I really think of purchases well over $100). Anywho, FPday came along with a great discount and this new MZ blue hawaii with the rose gold trim was too much temptation. They actually ran out during the day but I was emailed and told they had ordered more from Leonardo. It took around 4 weeks to arrive, but it was well worth it. I also asked for the nib to he tuned and smoothed. They did an amazing job because this nib (M) is a a joy to write with. Currently inked with Kon-peki and it’s hard to put this pen down. The resin is beautiful, the different shades of blue, the chatoyance, the island brown, the rose gold trim. Gorgeous.

I have many Leonardo pens; I was waiting to purchase the famed “Blue Hawaii” pen since I wanted to get the specs correct to use it as a daily writer. I got the 14kt Gold nib in Extra Fine with Cursive Italic custom tuning. The 14kt gold nibs are somewhat wetter than the stainless steel nibs, so the extra fine gold writes like a stainless steel fine.
The pen is the perfect size for my hands. I requested engraving to match the color of the furniture and it is perfect. I love this pen and it will be coming with me on all my travels as I cannot live without it. Buy this pen in a nib you will use every day because you will want to use this pen as much as possible!
