The Leonardo Momento Magico Pithecusa is named after the Island of Ischia, the island of beauty. The fountain pens of today are pure magic, with magic liquid inside, the ink. These tools can tell ancien tand modern stories. Recalling the splendors of the period between 900 and 700 B.C., a time when Hellenic culture left an important imprint on Italian territory as well, just as it did on the present-day Island of Ischia whose ancient name, Pithecusa, precisely was chosen to celebrate a historical era that is still able to evoke beauty and emotions.
The Pithecusa is based on the Leonardo Momento Magico model, it features elegant lines with a perfect vintage style clip. On this edition the centre band is engraved with a three-dimensial pantograph, which gives life tot his new model. It has a wave pattern, reminiscent of the conitnuous motion of the sea and the dunes of the sandy beaches of the island of beauty.
Leonardo Officina Italiana has added a new pen to its range: the Momento Magico. It is a fountain pen with a piston filling system designed and produced in their own workshops. The pen body is characterized by a transparent ink window that measures 10 mm, which lets you see the ink level at any given time. Not that you will run out of ink quickly, as the barrel has a massive 1.5 ml. capacity.
Another element that characterizes the Momento Magico is the possibility to completely disassemble the pen. This lets you clean your pen more easily if necessary. For this specific purpose Leonardo has created a new piston tool (sold separately).
The cap of the Momento Magico is characterized by the central band perforated with a detail of the decorations belonging to the period known in the history of art as ‘geometric art’. It refers to the production of decorations of Greek civilization between 900 and 700 BC, which takes its name from term traditionally used for ceramics, production of the same period.
The pen is available with a steel nib, a gold nib or a gold flex nib. The gold nibs have an ebonite feed. The nibs have received and extra-strong lamination treatment, which makes them suitable for any type of ink.
And the story goes on… A family tradition. Leonardo Officina Italiana is a forge, a laboratory where experience and craftsmanship are mixed giving life to “pleasure”, the pleasure of writing. Over 45 years of experience in the field of writing instruments, handed down from father to son, from generation to generation. Today Leonardo Officina Italiana works on emotional and vintage projects, taking up the old loading systems, the materials and the working techniques that once characterized the craft of the craftsman. The Leonardo pens have a soul, a human warmth that only passion can give. Each Leonardo collection is hand made in Italy.
