Description
After numerous requests from fountain pen lovers, Leonardo proudly introduces the Furore Grande. This is the larger version of the popular Furore model, inspired on the famous fiord located on the Amalfi Coast, and named after the small village of Furore, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.
The fountain pen has a 14kt gold or stainless steel nib in different sizes (Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, 1.1 and 1.3 Stub) and the feed is made of ebonite. There is also an ‘Elastic’ nib to choose from, adding extra flexibility to your writing experience.
The Furore Grande uses a piston filling mechanism with a capacity of 1.5 ml.
And the story goes on… A family tradition. Leonardo Officina Italiana is a forge, a laboratory where experience and craftsmanship are mixed giving life to “pleasure”, the pleasure of writing. Over 45 years of experience in the field of writing instruments, handed down from father to son, from generation to generation. Today Leonardo Officina Italiana works on emotional and vintage projects, taking up the old loading systems, the materials and the working techniques that once characterized the craft of the craftsman. The Leonardo pens have a soul, a human warmth that only passion can give. The fountain pen carved into the material is certainly this detail that differentiates us on the world market. Each Leonardo collection is hand made in Italy.

My go to Show-off pen now. Writes like a dream

I honestly was not expecting to get a pen that wrote this nicely (it was tuned perfectly, thank you Anabelle!), and honestly for the price, it’s a bargain. The material feels high quality and great to write with. I will definitely be buying another Leonardo pen after writing with this pen!

What’s not to like about this pen? Beautiful material, smooth uncapping action, ebonite feed, and perfectly tuned nib (thanks, Annabelle!). Highly recommended.

After many reviews and analysis, I bought this fountain pen. Beautifull, flawless, the shape is perfect for me. It writes just out of the box. The delivery by Appelboom was efficient.

It was very easy to fall in love with this pen! The Italian acrylic is amazing, with a deep and chatoyant pattern. The build quality is superb and this piston operates with a very high quality feel. The nib is amazingly smooth though I find it can be a little sensitive to writing angle.

This Leonardo Grande feels so good in the hand and writes like a dream. You will not be disappointed.

What can i say! I have the furore in the same colour excepts it’s subtly different and just as beautiful. The Nib is wet and smooth and it’s another wonderful creation from Leonardo.

I’ve really enjoyed using this pen. It is comfortable to hold and feels good in the hand. The nib is very smooth with good ink flow. I went with a bold steel nib option – a steel nib makes this pen even better value for money. I chose Appelboom’s excellent nib tune and smooth option, which I highly recommend for your peace of mind. The pen has a solid piston mechanism. (I also bought the special tool, sold separately, to remove the piston mechanism – you don’t need it, but I like looking inside my pens and being able to thoroughly clean them out.) This pens makes a really good workhorse pen because it fills with a decent amount of ink and it’s not too heavy (heavy pens can get tiring if you use them for a long time). There are no downsides – it’s a really well made pen.

This pen is practically perfect. The larger size and section is perfectly comfortable. The piston filler makes the pen have that extra level of luxury. The material and shape of the pen is design with so much attention to detail. I got the elastic fine steel nib. It’s definitely more of a medium. I’m excited to write with this every day and definitely one of the best pen purchases I’ve ever made.

The elastic nib on the pen is gorgeous. The resin is so pretty when put it under the sunlight. Great packaging and fast delivery.

I purchased this pen with medium gold nib and Verde emerald acrylic. Beautiful design and constitution is of the highest quality. Fits my hands nicely and I use it as an every day writer. The gold nib (medium) is smooth with a touch of feedback and with an excellent ink flow. You can’t go wrong buying this pen.

I wished for this pen since I first saw it. It took me a while to get it but it was worth the wait. It is beautiful. The price hold me back for while but with the free “tune and smooth” you reach another level and it makes it worth it in my opinion. The Pen is nice the tuning perfect for my liking. The green /blue color is gorgeous.

Beautiful pen with large size. Write smoothly and consistently. Large ink capacity. Highly recommended.

I got this pen during the fountain pen day sales, and I’m sure there was so much volume of shoppers, yet the pen’s nib was tuned and delivered in a timely manner.
My main gripe about this pen is that it does not have an ink window, so it is a mystery pen. But besides that, the pen is finished beautifully.

The pictures of the pen are great, but nothing beats seeing it in person. The Italian made resin simmers and it looks so much more expensive than its retail price. A work of art!

Pros:
– The finish is stunning. Pictures don’t do it justice. Looks like the sea.
– The elastic nib is fun to write with. It never railroads thanks to the excellent ebonite feed. Far superior to Pilot Falcon nibs that I have tried. However, don’t expect vintage flex – it’s like a stiff-ish semi-flex nib that goes from fine to broad.
– Its comfortable to hold. I love its size.
– Comes with ink and a pretty box.
Cons:
– Nib arrived a little scratchy and caught on paper a bit. Was able to smooth it out with micromesh.
– The piston is a bit stiff. Perfectly acceptable but not as smooth as, say Pelikan pens. Will probably need silicone grease in the future.
– While the steel nibs are fairly priced, the price of the elastic nib and other gold nibs is a bit eye-watering.
– The booklet in the box comes with no way to contact Leonardo Officina Italiana.
It was a pleasure buying from Appelboom, as always.

As soon as I saw stock photos of this pen I knew I had to buy it but in all honesty, those photos don’t really do it justice. The chatoyance is deep and wonderful and the pen positively glows when in sunlight or good artificial light.
I find it extremely comfortable to use but I do like larger pens: someone who prefers, say, an Aurora Optima or Pelikan 200/400 might find this a touch too big. It’s not too heavy (I don’t post my pens) and the nib which came fitted to mine – a steel M – was a perfectly smooth writer straight out of the box, with just the right degree of wetness. However, therein lies the only criticism I’d make about this pen because I do find the nib to be on the fine side of medium. At some point I will probably; order a B nib and swap them over.
As usual, Appelboom’s service was first class.

The material is stunning and I love the shape of this pen. Even though I’d chosen the Tune & Smooth option, the nib wasn’t right when I tried the pen. Good R-L strokes but L-R dragged, not scratchy, just didn’t glide over the paper like R-L. I decided to send it to a nib specialist to check it along with another of my pens and he immediately saw the twisted tine and sent me a photo (shame I can’t attach it). He has straightened the tine and smoothed the nib and it’s loads better now but at extra cost to me. I thought of sending it back to Appelboom at the time but thought it was possibly very minor tweak and small cost and I was sending a pen to the nib specialist anyway. Don’t think I’d buy another Momento.

This furore catches my attention when I see it in IG. The shape, size and color are the differentiators from others. The color effect is so distinct in a bright or sunlight like some kind of bubbles in the sea. I love so much of it.

I could not get this pen in North America. I ordered it from Appelboom and it arrived in short order. Excellent service.
The pen is absolutely gorgeous. It is extremely comfortable to hold. The nib is exquisitely tuned. The ink flow is perfect. This pen is an absolutely sterling writer. I ordered a steel nib which is just as good as a gold nib.
Leonardo pens are fantastic.

This pen arrived in the US in a very brief time and the shipping was very easy to track all the way. The service from Appelboom was first rate! I can validate the observations of the previous reviewers about the beauty of the material and the balance of the pen in hand. The broad steel nib offers a wonderfully smooth writing experience and I imagine will produce the maximum effects of the user’s chosen ink.

This is a Beautiful pen from Leonardo. Out of the new 2020 Furore Grande editions the Verde Smeraldo immediately caught my attention. The color and chatoyancy are stunning. Received the pen here in the US super fast. The service and attention to detail from Appelboom is outstanding. Highly recommend ordering your Leonardo Furore Grande from Appelboom.

My Furore Grande Verde Smeraldo ST arrived a week ago and every time I look at it I smile. Not to put to fine a point on it but it’s gorgeous. The chatoyancy won’t disappoint. I purchased the steel nib in medium and would say it is more to the fine side than broad side. But it writes beautifully. I did go for Appelboom’s free nib customization service. So the out of box experience was and is excellent. The ebonite feed is unique. Classy looking and delivers ink flow flawlessly. Thanks to Appelboom for your great service, for not charging tax and providing free DHL shipping to the US.
