Description
The Leonardo Officina Italiana Furore collection is honouring the colors of the Amalfi Coast landscapes, where the Italian pen company is based. It’s a magic place, where land and sea meet each other, so beautiful and fascinating that takes your heart, with bright and strong colors. The vintage look of its shape recalls the old classics, rounded at ends, well balanced both when capped or posted.
The fountain pen has a stainless steel or 14ct gold nib in different sizes and uses the standard international cartridge/converter filling mechanism (converter included).
And the story goes on… A family tradition. Leonardo Officina Italiana is a forge, a laboratory where experience and craftsmanship are mixed giving life to “pleasure”, the pleasure of writing.
Over 45 years of experience in the field of writing instruments, handed down from father to son, from generation to generation. Today Leonardo Officina Italiana works on emotional and vintage projects, taking up the old loading systems, the materials and the working techniques that once characterized the craft of the craftsman. The Leonardo pens have a soul, a human warmth that only passion can give. The fountain pen carved into the material is certainly this detail that differentiates us on the world market. Each Leonardo collection is hand made in Italy.

This is a stunningly beautiful pen – impeccable workmanship and the fine nib writes well. The photos don’t do it justice!

I have bought a momento zero medium from Leonardo which has become my EDC pen. I decided to buy this Furore pen with gold nib (F) because I want to try how this gold nib writes compared to the stainless steel one. The product is amazing in terms of awesome and unique material. The nib writes smooth and wet. (I ordered tuning service from Appelboom as well.)

This pen brand is making quite an impact on the fountain pen world – and it is not surprising. With their new Jowo steel nibs the beautifully made pens write as smoothly as any with a gold nib. For hand made pens like this the price is reasonable, and the beautiful acrylic materials are a joy. Feels like a handful of Italian sunshine.

Pros:
– Appearance – I haven’t seen a pen like this ever. Pictures don’t do it justice. Absolutely marvellous, looks like the sea.
– Writing – Extremely comfortable to hold. I love the tapered section. Nib performs well. The converter holds a large amount of ink.
Cons:
– The 1.1 mm stub nib arrived over-polished and skipped while writing, but the problem was quickly rectified by Appelboom and Leonardo.
– The blind cap at the end exposes the tiniest bit of the converter piston-turner. This exposed section is very smooth and slippery for me, to the point of being unusable. Your mileage may vary depending on your hand size.
– The pen’s booklet has no direct way to contact the manufacturer. Not a problem since Appelboom stands behind their products, and you can find Leonardo Officina Italiana on social media but it still strikes me as strange.
As usual, it was a pleasure buying from Appelboom.

This resin is as beautiful as any I’ve ever seen (I might even like it better than the Blue Hawaii, another favorite). The cigar shape is perfect and the lines leading down to the nib are pure Italian. You may gather I like this pen a lot. If you are buying from Appelboom and get a tune and smooth you are guaranteed to get one of your favorite new pens!

This pen writes very beautifully. The acrylic is exquisite. Entrancing to look at. Highly recommended!
The fine steel nib has some decent line variation and allows for some moderately expressive writing.
The threads are very accurate between the cap and pen section. One turn is required to remove it.
The slightly larger girth of the body versus most other pens of this shape makes it more comfortable to hold and to write smoothly.
Highly recommended. This may be my “grail” pen now.

The marbling on the body is outrageously good. I literally spent about an hour just looking at it. Leonardo is officially my go to pen with this. Nib was super smooth. As I said: This is probably the best thing that has ever happened to fountain pens. It would be hard to write with something else after this.
As always, Mr, Joost and Team Appelboom was superbly helpful in helping out with the purchase, and also getting my name etched on the side.

i just received my latest Leonardo acquisition. After the tuning by Appellboom, the pen writes wonderfully. it took a bit longer to receive it due to stock situations and it arrived from the Boston location. The pen was not wrapped as a gift the way it usually does from the main outlet but it arrived in perfect condition. This is a great company from which to purchase.
