I had heard such great things about these pen pouches. First, from the pictures on Appelboom as well as on Galen, I thought the case was suede. So I thought that looked cool. It’s not suede, but still looks good. It’s nice, compact enough, and yet holds 5 pens and a booklet, so it is easy to use and carry around. I prefer to have individual slots rather than pen loops, one reason I stayed away from these kinds of cases in the past. Thought I’d try it out, and it hasn’t changed my mind; I still prefer the individual slots. The biggest issue I have is that the zipper is completely exposed on the inside. I can carry around shorter pens, but with larger pens I am afraid that the zipper might scratch the pen caps/barrels. I have to move the zipper out of the way, but in a hurry to load or unload a pen I fear it might scratch the pen. I guess I’ll stick to pen wraps, but it is very handy for sure for smaller pens.

I’ve had this pen pouch for 6 months now and it goes everywhere I go. One pen is never enough and with this leather pouch I can carry a variety of ink colours or nib sizes with me. Both the brown and green version are very nice (it was pretty hard to choose!) and the colours look exactly like the pictures.
Each pen has its own (very broad) pen loop, so the pens don’t touch each other, meaning there’s no risk of scratching. The elastic is very resilient, so the pens won’t slide around and even after very intense use they still retain their elasticity.
The extra space on the opposite side is extremely handy. I always have a thin A6 notebook in there, and when I’m travelling light, I put my bank card and/or business cards in there.
The quality of the leatherwork is superb and the zipper is very sturdy. I can just throw this in my purse or backpack without having to worry about damaging my pens. The ideal travel companion!
