Another amazing new colour as well as a slight change in pattern for the Diplomat Elox: meet the Matrix version!
The Diplomat Elox is based on the ever popular Aero model. Its distinctive feature are the contrasting coloured bands that are evenly spread out along the cap and barrel. The name Elox comes from the word ‘eloxieren’, German for anodising. The pattern in the black material is now made using the guilloche technique, meaning it is possible to make a more intricate pattern, resulting in the Matrix edition.
The Diplomat Aero fountain pen has a steel (optional 14ct gold) nib in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium and Broad. The pen uses an ink cartridge or a converter.

Quality pen with a good nib with a tiny bit of feedback. Comfort grip, wet nib and beautiful colour combination. The cut outs are a bit sharp, but I seems like they get less rough the more you use it 🙂

I bought a steel nib, very easy to write with, and the large nib or cool.
The only drawback is that the cut-outs in the pattern catch and the lint from the pen case gets caught on them.

I like my new pen. I like the design, black and green reminds me of the Matrix movie. I like that you don’t have to unscrew the cap and the sound with which the cap closes is very pleasant. I was surprised by how good the nib is. I think that it’s my favourite steel nib in my collection. It’s very smooth.
The only thing that disappoints me a bit is the price. If the price was the same as for other Aeros it would be unbeatable. 🙂 But still I bought it and I’m happy with it. 🙂

I received this FP about a week ago. I’ve been writing with it often during the past week. This is my 4th Diplomat FP. I have 2 other Aero’s and a Excellence A as well. They all write beautifully smooth. Not sure if Diplomat inspects these nibs individually or not, but they are 4 for 4 in my book as far as nib perfection goes. The Matrix itself is stunning. One thing to nitpick, the grooves/lines sometimes terminate in a prickly point. Not sharp, but noticeable if you feel the pen in your hands. I would be cautious storing this pen next to another pen without a “buffer”.
