Description
Forged in fire, designed for innovation. Introducing Diplomat’s Aero Flame collection! This pen is crafted to showcase the versatility of metal, and there’s no better way than to pair it against the elements. Unlike the other Aero pens (whicha re made of aluminum), this edition is made of stainless steel, which gives more weight to the pen. Each pen was individually set under a blowtorch, ensuring a unique style on every fine writing instrument. Because of the size and the grooves, the process is quite time intensive. Clear lacquer was applied during the finishing touches to offer a stunning sheen on the bodies of each pen. The hues and textures are truly original, and any pen lover is sure to appreciate the craftsmanship.
In 1900 the Zeppelin airship began its first test flight under the aeronautical leadership of Earl von Zeppelin. Based on this event and the design of the airship Diplomat introduces the Aero pen to the market. The Diplomat Aero is characterized by groove-like depressions on the barrel and cap which lends the pen next to its classic form a modern spirit. The Diplomat Aero is made of anodized aluminum and is especially designed ergonomically. The clip harmonises well with the shape of the Diplomat Aero.
The Diplomat Aero fountain pen has a steel (optional 14ct gold) nib in Fine, Medium and Broad. The pen use a ink cartridge or a converter.
Since 1922, the name Diplomat has stood for sophisticated writing instruments. Driven by excellence in quality and a spirit of innovation the manufacture for turned fountain pens developed into a leading manufacturer of premium writing instruments. The Diplomat pens still manufactured in Kierspe, Germany.

This pen is beautiful, with a perfectly tuned fine nib. Smooth writer, great ink flow and just the right amount of feedback. Quite a heavy pen, but well balanced.

I was uncertain about this pen as it looked like it would be too heavy for long use. Having used it for about two weeks, I have been pleasantly surprised by how well balanced it is. The grip is solid. Nib and ink flow are excellent. Love the beauty of the flame on the metal. Have really been enjoying the Diplomat pens.

The Diplomat Aero pens are unique in design and their signature, smooth capping mechanism is the most satisfying of any pen I own. This pen is special even among the Aero line of pens. Most Aeros have aluminum bodies but this one is stainless steel and heavy and really, really solid…indestructible, but still incredibly well balanced. It’s a perfect everyday writer. You don’t have to worry about keeping it in a protective pen carrier like the precious pens with lacquered or resin bodies. Finally, I would recommend getting the steel nib. Diplomat makes some of the best steel nibs available. They write smoothly right out of the box. Incredibly reliable and robust, with great ink flow.

J’adore la prise en main du stylo, la souplesse de la plume (j’ai pris la plume fine, en or 14k) , la qualité de fabrication (par exemple, la fermeture est d’une précision irréprochable) et, pour terminer, ses superbes couleurs !!!

My second aero, this time with a medium nib, kindly tuned for me. It’s weighty but well balanced and one of the best steel nibs I’ve used. The flame colour works brilliantly too.
