I came across this little pen on Appelboom’s website and was immediately attracted by the amazing blue colour. Ordering was fast and easy and the pen was delivered very promptly despite adding on the smooth and tune option which caused some delay in shipping out. The pen arrived beautifully and carefully packaged, along with Appelboom’s yummy wafers which I have come to enjoy!

The M120 Iconic Blue is a small pen and came as a set with a bottle of blue Pelikan ink appropriately labelled with a vintage-styled label. Overall, the pen harkens back to days when pens and watches were smaller and arguably more elegant. The Extra Fine nib is perfect - wet with just the right amount of feedback. The width feels like a Fine rather than Extra Fine but that’s what I like.

Being a piston filled pen, it holds a good amount of ink for a little pen!

This is one of the best pens in my collection, which includes both the Montblanc 149 and Montblanc 149 calligraphy flex nib, as well as two OMAS pens hand-made by the Simoni family in the 1980s. It was made all the better by the addition of a 14ct nib, tuned to perfection by Appelboom's nibmeister. I've invested heavilty in the Montblanc product: 2 149 calligraphy flex nibs and a new Montblanc 149 BB nibbed pen. If I didn't have so many pens already, I would love to have the Pelikan 1000 with an Appelboom nib manipulation by the nibmeister. That nibmeister is worth the trouble. Don't buy a pen without her treatment of the nib..

I bought the iconic blue fountain pen during the 2018 fountain pen day. It arrived within one working day. The pen is beautiful. I like the blue colour of the pen very much. Especially the combination of the gold nib and rings with the blue colour is very nice. The pen is light and the extra fine nib writes smooth and perfectly. The ink that is included in the gift box matches with the blue colour of the pen.
