Good ink but it's a little more transparent than a Pilot black. Maybe because I use it with an EF MB nib. Overall still happy with it.

Although I love blue royal blue the Petro blue but everyone needs to have black as well. Any and all items I have ever received from Appelboom is of the highest quality, I love the Montblanc products, my next item on the wish listWill be a beautiful pelican writing instrument

It is a standard ink and with no frills, except for the bottle being really fancy, with a gentleman's shoe kind of a look adorned with the Montblanc logo. It definitely isn't the best ink available on the market but does a decent job. Few points overall:
Pigment and shade- although the name is "black", it is not exactly true black. It seems to be a very dark shade of purple, and apparent if you use a swab.
Ink viscosity : normal, unlike permanent inks .
Permanency - not permanent at all.
