The Montblanc Great Characters 2019 edition is honoring Walt Disney. The name Walt Disney is forever bound with the art of film animation and American movie history. An empire of unimaginable proportions grew out of his initial idea to perfect the technique of making cartoons. Born in 1901 in Chicago, Walter Elias Disney became one of the most influential and most revered film producers of his time, thanks to his pioneering spirit and inventive ability. The overall shape of the writing instrument is inspired by the legendary Monorail system, while colors are a reference to the original poster from “Steamboat Willy” (1920) which depicts Mickey Mouse. The cap and barrel in matte black precious resin feature several hidden Mickeys and the signature of Walt Disney can be found on the cap top. A major significance in Disney's early career is celebrated with a set of coordinates engraved on the cone. They give the position of the garage belonging to Walt Disney's uncle, where Walt Disney and his brother constructed a camera stand.

The fountain pen uses a piston filling mechanism and has a 14kt gold nib that is engraved with a special engraving.

With every Great Characters Edition, Montblanc commemorates individuals who have broken new ground in the fields of culture, politics, science or the arts, and the impact of the legacy they have left behind.

The pen itself is pure fun, but what Anabelle did to the nib is, again, a miracle! If one ever has the pleasure to write one of her customized nibs, s/he will recognize the passion and craftmanship with which she turns a perfect nib into a phenomenal writing magic. I've never been a Montblanc hater but I've never yearned to own one either. This model caught my eye several months ago because of its quirkiness and eventually I succumbed to the temptation try one of the fabled MB nibs. I ordered a BB nib which had to be fitted by Montblanc yet I still received the pen within two weeks of ordering, so Appelboom's wonderful customer service was just as good as ever. The pen itself is well balanced in the hand; the BB nib is smooth and slightly wet and slightly stubby and simply perfect; and as for the piston, words fail me because it's simply the best of any of the more upmarket pens I own. Now I'm trying to decide which nib to order on my next Montblanc ......

I love MB and Pelikan as I love juicy smooth nibs. I usually tend to turn to my MB 149 for my writing sessions, but this is my new favorite. I bought the Broad and it is the best writer I own. I love the attention to detail with the mickey logo on the barrel and the co-ordinates of garage belonging to Walt Disney's uncle, where Walt Disney and his brother constructed a camera stand. The pen brings back childhood memories. Totally worth the price.

I had purchased a Broad Nib from Appelboom and the Nib and the Pen did not disappoint. For all collectors who have obsessed over Mickey in their childhood, it is a welcome addition to their collection. The Mickey Face on the Pen and Smaller Star on the cap make the pen stand out amoungst the MBs that you would carry. Definitely worth every penny you spend. Plus you cannot argue with the MB 145 Nib.

Recently received the Montblanc Walt Disney Fountain Pen. Customer service and shipping was fantastic. I’ve been wanting this pen ever since I saw it at a boutique store in Arizona. Piston filler so it holds an large amount of ink (no one window though). Has worked flawlessly in the amount of time I’ve been using it. Would definetly purchase again.

This is an impressive design by Montblanc. You can appreciate the details in the body of the pen and although it is heavier pen due to the metal parts, it is a well balance pen. You can't post the pen to write but that is not an issue for me. The dimensions of this pen are similar to the Pelikan M800, although is a bit longer with the cap. The nib writes with no problems and there is really no need to put pressure to write. There is no ink window but the ink capacity is good. I do not use this pen as a pen that a carry around, for that I use a Lamy Safari or a Pelikan M200. This pen is best suited for using at your desk and enjoy writing with it. Thanks to Joost Appelboom for his recommendation and great customer service I am enjoying this pen very much.

I finally have a Montblanc FP. Yay! What a smooth writing experience. Feels a bit heavy for some, not me, because now I really don't have to put pressure to the nib to write. The pen feels very comfortable in your hand. Piston filling system. One downside, no ink window.
