After numerous requests from fountain pen lovers, Leonardo proudly introduces the Furore Grande. This is the larger version of the popular Furore model, inspired on the famous fiord located on the Amalfi Coast, and named after the small village of Furore, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.

The fountain pen has a 14kt gold or stainless steel nib in different sizes (Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, 1.1 and 1.3 Stub) and the feed is made of ebonite. There is also an ‘Elastic’ nib to choose from, adding extra flexibility to your writing experience.

The Furore Grande uses a piston filling mechanism with a capacity of 1.5 ml.

And the story goes on… A family tradition. Leonardo Officina Italiana is a forge, a laboratory where experience and craftsmanship are mixed giving life to “pleasure”, the pleasure of writing. Over 45 years of experience in the field of writing instruments, handed down from father to son, from generation to generation. Today Leonardo Officina Italiana works on emotional and vintage projects, taking up the old loading systems, the materials and the working techniques that once characterized the craft of the craftsman. The Leonardo pens have a soul, a human warmth that only passion can give. The fountain pen carved into the material is certainly this detail that differentiates us on the world market. Each Leonardo collection is hand made in Italy.

I love the Furore Grande ergonomic design. They feel so good in the hand and write exceptionally well. This one is no different. It’s a lovely writer. I just wish that the resin would have looked a little less muddy. The white swirls aren’t as pronounced as I have seen in all the media on this pen.

The pen is great no doubt. Also, I had requested for the nib to be tuned and the team at Appelboom did a marvelous job. This is not my 1st pen that I had asked to be tuned, and every time they make the pen perfect. Thank you very much for that!

“WOW! The pen is a stunning piece of art! The BROAD steel nib is buttery smooth and the ebonite feed provides a great flow of ink.

I’ve only heard this mentioned on one video review, but I love thew ratcheting piston system. For me, it’s the necessary feedback that the piston is actually moving. If nothing else, it’s a nice contrast from the Pelikan (and other) piston system that I’ve experienced before.

I also find the name and pen number etching to be “tasteful” and not distracting. I actually like it a lot. Seeing it in person changed my mind… as I had actually avoided the entire Leonardo Pen Line because I thought the etching/engraving would take away from the beauty of the Pen–I WAS WRONG!!!

Bottom line–the pen is gorgeous and is such a joy to write with. Thank you Joost for the great customer service & price, Anabelle for the Nib Tuning (verification), and LEONARDO for such an amazing Pen!

I had heard many goods reviews about Leonardo Officina Italiana pens, so I decided try the Furore piston model.
What to say. The pen is awesome and very good built.
It is a big pen in lenght and width, but the size and section is very comfortable for me.
The blue positano acrilic is very nice, the piston mechanism works perfectly and the 14K gold nib, with the ebonite feed, writes softly and is wet enough for me.
For the money you paid for it, you recieve a fabulous italian made pen.

Leonardo continues to make beautiful, well-functioning pens at a very reasonable price. I purchased the Furore Grande with a 1.1mm steel nib. The nib is smooth — definitely a stub, not an italic — and provides distinct line differentiation with little effort. You do need to keep the nib aligned with paper for consistently good performance. The ebonite feed provides generous flow without gushing. The material is superb — not pearlescent, but very attractive. The size and weight of the Furore Grande make for comfortable writing without posting. This is an excellent pen.
