Stenography, or “shorthand,” is a writing system designed to increase speed and/or space-efficiency, most often used in journalism, medical, legal, and business environments to transcribe the spoken word. The Field Notes Steno Notebook is 150x230mm with a black double-O wiring spiral at the top so it lies flat, open or closed. The Steno has 80 pages and comes with 70# bright white paper that is Gregg-ruled with a fine soy based "double knee duck canvas" light brown ink. The cover on the Field Notes Steno notebook is made from Newark Paperboard Mills 60 pt. "Super Duty Chipboard" that is screen printed with "dictation smudge" black ink. The spiral top allows the paper to lay flat for ease of writing. The inside of the cover provides useful information such as the history of stenography with the short hand abbreviation guide to planetary distance from the sun, temperature conversion, hobo quick reference guide and more.
